  • Can my child do only one subject per session?
The structure of the lesson is entirely up to you as a parent depending on what your child struggles with the most. However, we recommened that if you want both Maths and English taught to your child, that you ulternate the weeks these subjects are taught. Having both subjects in one hour would mean the tutor wouldn't be able to focus on a specific topic in as much detail.
  • Do we need to supply any materials?
All materials are supplied by the tutor but if there is any work from school that you would like the tutor to go over with your child, let the tutor know in advance so they can work that into the structure of their planned lessons. However, we do ask that each pupil brings their own stationary and paper to each lesson.
  • How many lessons can my child have per week?
We recommened that your child only has one session per week, but if both the tutor and parents feel the pupil would benefit from an additional lesson, this can be arranged.
  • How is the work planned?
After the initial assessment by Julie, the results are sent to the tutor who will then plan an individual scheme of work tailored specifically for the child.
  • Do the children get set homework?
We are happy to provide homework on a weekly basis, however, we do ask that if the tutor sets homework, that your child completes it, as it may be used as the basis for the following lesson.
  • When do I receive feedback on how my child is getting on?
At the end of every tutoring session, your child's tutor will talk through with you what was acheived in the lesson and whether there is any homework to be completed. If a longer discussion is needed, the tutor will arrange a time to phone the parent.
